As David Beckham approaches his 50th birthday in May, the former football icon continues to impress with his chiseled physique.

In a series of recent photoshoots, including a notable feature in Men’s Health magazine, Beckham showcases the results of his dedicated fitness regimen and disciplined lifestyle.

Beckham‘s commitment to health encompasses various activities. He frequently engages in padel, a racquet sport combining elements of tennis and squash, playing three times a week.

This sport not only enhances his cardiovascular endurance but also offers a fun way to stay active. Additionally, Beckham maintains a consistent workout routine alongside his wife, Victoria, fostering mutual motivation and support.

Reflecting on their joint sessions, he shared, “I love training with her, but I often give her a lot of grief during our workouts.”

Structured weekly workout routine

To maintain his athletic build, Beckham follows a structured weekly exercise plan:

  • Monday: Begins with a light jog, followed by strength exercises such as sled pushes, push-ups, rope workouts, kettlebell swings, and squats.
  • Tuesday: Focuses on cardiovascular health with ten sets of one-kilometer sprints.
  • Wednesday: Emphasizes strength with routines including squats, push-ups, leg raises, burpees, and plank-to-push-up sequences.
  • Thursday: Mirrors Tuesday’s cardio emphasis with multiple sprint intervals.
  • Friday: Concludes the week with a 20 to 30-minute treadmill session, occasionally incorporating yoga, rock climbing, or mixed martial arts.

Weekends are reserved for rest and recovery, though Beckham remains active through activities like hiking and walking his dogs.

Balanced nutrition and occasional indulgences

Nutrition plays a pivotal role in Beckham’s fitness strategy. He typically starts his day with a protein-rich cheese omelet.

Lunch and dinner consist of lean proteins, such as chicken or fish, paired with leafy green vegetables like spinach, broccoli, and cauliflower prepared with olive oil.

While he maintains a disciplined diet, Beckham allows himself occasional indulgences, with pancakes being a noted favorite.

Approaching his 50th year, Beckham remains unfazed by the milestone. He emphasizes the importance of health and family, stating, “As long as I’m fit and healthy and my family are healthy, that’s all I care about.”

His dedication to fitness and well-being not only benefits him personally but also serves as an inspiration to his children, highlighting the significance of an active lifestyle.
