The Dodgers are looking to retain the World Series, for which Dave Roberts spoke about the possible arrival of Sandy Alcantara to LA.

With Tyler Glasnow, Blake Snell and Roki Sasaki injured, Dave Roberts touched on the possibility of Sandy Alcantara.

Glasnow is estimated to return before the All-Star Game, while Snell is also expected to return in July and Sasaki in August. Dave Roberts currently has Dustin May, Clayton Kershaw, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani, who has been pitching again since 2023, in his rotation.

Dave Roberts broke his silence on Sandy Alcantara

Given the situation of the Dodgers’ starting pitching and the fact that the MLB trade deadline is at the end of July 2025, Dave Roberts broke his silence regarding the possible arrival of Dominican pitcher Sandy Alcantara to the team that is the current Major League Baseball champion.

While Dodgers manager Dave Roberts believes his current staff: “The starters look good. Sandy Alcantara is a trade candidate, but I don’t know where he will go. If we were to do anything, we would probably add another pitcher to the bullpen.”

Dodgers not the only team interested in Sandy Alcantara

The Los Angeles Dodgers are not the only ones interested in right-handed pitcher Sandy Alcantara. In addition to the Dodgers, the Chicago Cubs also have their sights set on the Caribbean pitcher, in case the Miami Marlins want to trade him at the 2025 MLB trade deadline.

The Chicago Cubs have been keeping a close eye on Sandy Alcantara, especially since they lost pitcher Justin Steele for the rest of the 2025 MLB season through injury, and the team is looking to get another arm with an eye on playoff qualification.

Is Sandy Alcantara an ideal trade for the Dodgers?

Sandy Alcantara did not start pitching well in the 2025 MLB season, but the 29-year-old Dominican has been recovering and since June 3, 2025, he has a record of two games won and one lost in four starts with an ERA of 2.74 in 23 innings pitched and a FIP of 3.20
