If someone had said that by Week 2, the Indianapolis Colts would be 2-0 with a spectacular Daniel Jones, nobody would have believed it. The Colts have been one of the biggest surprises of the season so far, with a decisive victory over the Miami Dolphins and a dramatic win against the Denver Broncos.
The Indianapolis Colts’ season has been so impressive that they’ve achieved a historic milestone: in both games, they haven’t punted even once. Every series has ended in a field goal or touchdown-a remarkable feat that puts them at the top of the AFC South.
Much of this success is thanks to a surprising Daniel Jones, who has thrown for 588 yards and 5 touchdowns with zero interceptions over these two weeks. Additionally, running back Jonathan Taylor has contributed 165 rushing yards and 50 receiving yards.
Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Colts owner, steals the spotlight
After the passing of Jim Irsay on May 21, 2025, at the age of 65 due to cardiac arrest, his daughter Carlie Irsay-Gordon became CEO and owner of the Indianapolis Colts. She immediately became involved in all aspects of the franchise her father built.
Carlie Irsay-Gordon has been on the sidelines during games, wearing headphones and taking notes. Her presence hasn’t gone unnoticed, and quarterback Daniel Jones had nothing but admiration for the Colts’ owner.
“She is very intentional about trying to learn what’s going on in the game plan week to week… It’s been impressive to me that she does that. I think a lot of people can sense how hard she works,” Daniel Jones said on the UpAndAdamsShow.
For now, the Colts are one of the preseason sensations, and this Sunday they will make their first road visit when they face Cam Ward and the Tennessee Titans for their first divisional game of the year.
