Jackson’s versatility, combining elite passing with over 900 rushing yards, certainly made him a strong contender. However, Marino also recognized the significant impact Allen had on his team.
Leading the Buffalo Bills to a 13-4 record and securing another AFC East title, Allen displayed consistency and leadership all season long. Marino, while praising both quarterbacks, noted that Jackson’s season could have easily earned him the MVP as well.
While Lamar Jackson boasted the better passing stats and earned a first-team All-Pro nod, Josh Allen’s MVP bid was fueled by more than just numbers-it was the narrative. Allen’s contributions weren’t just measured by passing touchdowns (28), rushing touchdowns (12), and his role in leading the Bills to a division title.
