Kyrie Irving has been one of the NBA’s standout players over the past decade. A 2016 league champion with the Cleveland Cavaliers,nine-time All-Star, and 2016 Olympic gold medalist with Team USA, Irving has built an impressive legacy. Reaching such elite status requires discipline and focus, but Irving has openly admitted to struggling with some bad habits early in his career.

Now with the Dallas Mavericks, Irving is eager to demonstrate his leadership and set an example for younger players like Cooper Flagg. He aims to guide the team toward success and hopefully secure his second NBA championship. With his wealth of experience, Irving brings valuable insights that can help mentor and elevate those around him.

The story behind career of Irving that was never told

To be a true leader in the NBA, overcoming struggles is essential, and Kyrie Irving’s journey proves that success is rarely perfect. In a recent livestream, Irving opened up, sharing stories from his past that had never been told before.

“Being a young player on a team that’s struggling to win, a lot of bad habits can develop-and that’s exactly what happened to me early in my career,” Irving said, sparking widespread buzz across social media. “I would’ve loved to develop next to some of my favorite players and some of my favorite people,” he added, reflecting on what might have been.”

Irving went on to admit, “I had a lot of bad habits, I was not a winner, and I was not a good loser at all. I take full accountability. Those habits developed as a young player from losing games and focusing too much on just getting buckets.”

Kyrie Irving, do not forget the Cleveland Cavaliers

Having bad habits is never easy, and correcting them is often a gradual journey of small changes, one that Irving embraced to reach his true potential. Despite the challenges, the former Cavaliers guard also expressed deep affection for the Cleveland franchise.

“I love Cleveland, don’t get me wrong. I’m appreciative of everything they’ve done for me. I just wish I could’ve chosen the franchise I wanted to go to,” Irving said, revealing his heartfelt sentiments toward the team that gave him his first shot in the NBA.

Now, Kyrie Irving uses his experience and leadership to guide younger players, exactly what the Dallas Mavericks need this season to build chemistry and compete for the title. With Irving’s leadership and determination, the Mavericks hope to turn potential into championship success.
