Another day goes by and it’s another day without Micah Parsons being signed to a brand new contract extension. The star pass-rusher’s contract negotiations with the Dallas Cowboys have gone extremely poorly, with owner Jerry Jones rightfully bearing the brunt of external criticism. Parsons had done everything politically correctly up until the trade request, where he finally got fed up with Jones’ personal attacks.

The relationship would seem beyond repair, but everyone is still holding out hope that a deal gets done to keep Parsons in Dallas. While all of this has been going on, Parsons has been showing up to practices, albeit not participating in them. While that’s really just to avoid fines, he has been supportive of his teammates in the buildup to the season. But over the past couple of days, Parsons has been absent, which has raised plenty of eyebrows.

One user on X asked how he could hurt his back while standing on the sideline. Another user responded by saying “his lack of a new contract hurt his back“.

Whether Parsons is really dealing with a back injury or not, he wasn’t going to practice without a new contract anyway. It likely won’t help contract negotiations, though, as Jones has already questioned Parsons’ durability in the past.
