Dallas Cowboys legend slams his former coach over Jerry Jones’ tactics

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has been one of the most controversial figures in the NFL, where his involvement in player recruitment, contract negotiations and even tactical decisions have upset fans, but he has been backed within the team.

His involvement has caused disagreements among the squad and the coaches are labeled as responsible for the failures. However, Dez Bryant, a former Dallas Cowboys star and legend, has spoken out to defend Jerry Jones’ decisions and lashed out at his former head coach Jason Garrett

Currently, the Texan team is facing a crisis where Micah Parsons is in a position to leave Dallas. So Dez said: “With all the trauma I’ve experienced growing up, it’s hard for me to see someone I know fail… Apart from Jason Garrett!” he posted on X and who has also become a fierce critic of the team, … but remains a great defender of Jerry Jones.

Dez Bryant was with the Dallas Cowboys from 2010 to 2017, but it was in 2015 that Jerry Jones decided to keep him instead of DeMarco Murray, so fans rejected this move. At the time it wasn’t a bad move as the receiver had three consecutive years with over 1000 yards through the air.

However, after this finger-pointing by Jones, coach Jason Garrett stopped taking advantage of Dez Bryant‘s performance and his numbers began to decline. “I never respected his philosophy towards the players or the game,” he said. With such friction, the player was released in 2018 to go to the Baltimore Ravens and his departure was attributed to his head coach.

Jerry Jones’ Wallet: Dez Bryant’s Real MVP or Villain?

“I wanted to take a pay cut to keep the team together,” Dez Bryant revealed this week. “My loyalty is bigger than the money.”

But in Jerry’s world, profit margins are the real strategy. The truth is that in the end it was Dez Bryant who stayed with the Dallas Cowboys, as one of Jerry Jones’ favorites despite the opinion of Jason Garrett, who demanded otherwise.

Now, with the subject of Micah Parsons on the table, Dez Bryant has reappeared on social media where he mentioned: “Life is tough… if you’re a fighter, go get it! Preferably far, far away from Dallas.”

It was Dez Bryant’s advice.

Meanwhile, Garrett’s legacy as a coach? An 85-67 record, a Coach of the Year nomination, but in that time he has not come close to playing in a Super Bowl.
