Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys has established himself as a regular-season powerhouse in the NFL, a reputation honed over nine years since being drafted in the fourth round (135th overall) in 2016. His rookie season propelled the Cowboys to a 13-3 record and the NFC East title, setting the stage for a career defined by consistency. Through his career, Prescott has thrown for 31,986 yards, 215 touchdowns, and 83 interceptions, with an additional 1,962 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions in the playoffs, according to Pro-Football-Reference.com.

However, it’s his exceptional success against divisional opponents that positions him as one of the top three quarterbacks in NFL history for divisional play, a claim supported by ESPN Research. ESPN Research ranks Prescott with a .791 winning percentage (34-9) in division games since the 1970 merger, placing him second behind Patrick Mahomes (.854, 35-6) and just ahead of Tom Brady (.784, 98-27).

This figure, based on 43 divisional games through 2024, highlights his dominance within the NFC East against the New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Commanders. His current 14-game winning streak against the Giants, unbroken since 2016, is the longest active streak by any quarterback against a single opponent, per ESPN Stats & Info. His last standout win over the Giants, 40-37, saw him throw for 361 yards and two touchdowns.

Comparatively, Mahomes’ .854 mark reflects 41 games, while Brady’s .784 spans 125 games over 23 years, per Pro-Football-Reference.com. Prescott’s 34 divisional wins include 14 against the Giants, 11 against Washington, and 9 against Philadelphia, per NFL Network, achieved in a fiercely competitive division.

Prescott enters elite company with Brady and Mahomes in divisional play

This data bolsters Prescott’s case as one of the top three divisional quarterbacks historically. His .791 winning percentage, earned against tough NFC East foes, rivals Mahomes’ peak and Brady’s longevity. The 14-game Giants streak, including this year Week 2 win 40-37, reinforces his mastery.

Through Week 2 of 2025, he has 549 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, maintaining his divisional edge. As the 2025 season progresses, Prescott’s continued success could solidify his legacy as a divisional titan alongside Mahomes and Brady.
