Cruel message from Jaxson Dart to his Giants teammates; it could be one season and goodbye with the New York Giants

It comes as no surprise that the New York Giants are struggling. From the beginning, expectations were low and very similar to previous years, when by late October they were practically eliminated from playoff contention. The Giants are one of the most dysfunctional franchises in today’s NFL, despite boasting four Super Bowl titles.

Since winning the Super Bowl in the 2011-2012 season-when they defeated the New England Patriots led by Tom Brady for the second consecutive time-the Giants have only made the playoffs twice: in 2016, when they were eliminated in the Wild Card Round by the Green Bay Packers, and in 2022, when they defeated the Vikings but lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Divisional Round.

In Week 15, the Giants-who were favored by sportsbooks for the first time since Week 5 against the New Orleans Saints-ended up losing 29-21 to the Washington Commanders. It was a game in which the defense failed once again, special teams were a disaster, and Jaxson Dart appeared to be the only player still fighting for something.

Jaxson Dart delivered a tough message in his press conference

If there is one positive takeaway from this disastrous Giants season, it is Jaxson Dart, who represents a light at the end of the tunnel for Big Blue. Since taking over as the starting quarterback in Week 4, Dart has clearly brought a different energy to the offense. However, under his leadership the team has only won two games: against the Chargers and the Eagles, with the latter coming back in Week 6.

The Giants have now lost eight straight games this season, and following the loss to Washington, Dart was asked about the situation. Visibly frustrated, he responded:N“I haven’t gone this long without a win in my career.”

Even so, Dart has shown character and professionalism despite the organization’s struggles, stating that he respects his teammates and will continue to fight: “I love this game. I love coming to work every day, I love my teammates. I’m never going to be somebody who’s just discouraged completely,” said the Giants quarterback.

The silver lining of the loss-despite the Giants being favored-is that they currently hold the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. This could be crucial for New York, either to select the top available talent or to trade the pick for multiple future first-round selections. The season finale will be interesting, but one thing is clear: Joe Schoen should be fired as the team’s general manager.
