From a very young age, Cristiano Ronaldo showed a trait that would mark him for his entire career, an enormous competitiveness that knew no limits and has led him to become what many consider to be the best player in history.

Those who saw him grow from his first steps at Sporting Clube de Portugal through to Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and currently at Al Nassr, know that Cristiano Ronaldo always wants to win and score. That is why the statements of a superstar from Portugal and ex-Manchester United have only confirmed something that has been known for a long time, although revealing that the young Cristiano cried helplessly if he did not score or win matches.

Nani on Cristiano Ronaldo: “If he didn’t win, he cried”

Nani, former Manchester United star, has revealed in recent statements for Four Four Two that Cristiano Ronaldo has stood out from a young age from his time in the youth academy of Sporting, stating that the Portuguese star felt a passion for winning from his younger days and perhaps strove to do everything to perfection

Even as a child, he stood out above the rest. He knew exactly what he wanted. Cristiano lived football with an enormous passion: if he didn’t win, if things didn’t go well for him, he cried. That showed his commitment and the intensity with which he lived the game.

Nani

Nani also revealed that he chose Sporting Clube de Portugal over Benfica because of the presence of Cristiano with whom he shared a dressing room again at Manchester United.

It was a rather unusual situation internally with Benfica and Sporting at the same time. Later, both clubs invited me to pre-season, and at first I accepted. It was crazy. At that time I didn’t think about any of that, we just played and enjoyed ourselves.

Nani

We had the ambition and the dream that one day we could become professional footballers, but we also knew that until we achieved it, it was little more than an illusion.

Nani

Cristiano and Nani played a total of 130 matches together for clubs and national team, scoring 14 goals between them.

What are Cristiano Ronaldo’s next matches with Al Nassr?

Currently, the team led by Cristiano Ronaldo and company is in second place in the Saudi league, just one point behind leaders Al Hilal. The Portuguese star’s upcoming matches are:

  • Al Nassr vs. FK Arkadag – Wednesday, February 18 – AFC Cup second leg.
  • Al Nassr vs. Al-Hazm – Saturday, February 21 – Saudi Pro League
