The messages of mourning on social networks in reaction to the sad death of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre have not been long in coming.
The news has come as a shock to the sporting world. Teams, great stars with whom he has shared the dressing room and even figures outside of football, have not hesitated to speak out in support of the player’s family

Cristiano Ronaldo, Jota’s national teammate since 2019, was no less. With a tweet in which he deeply regrets the death of the 28-year-old. “It makes no sense, just now that you had married,” the Portuguese published on his Twitter account.
A very emotional message in which he made mention of the player’s family, wishing them strength in these difficult times and reminding them that Diogo will always be with them. “I send my condolences and wish them all the strength in the world,” Ronaldo concluded in his statement.
The football world mourns the loss of Diogo Jota. His legacy will live on in the memory of the fans, teammates and rivals who shared great moments with him. Rest in peace.
