“Hilton would be an excellent target for the Dallas Cowboys, who enter camp with injury concerns at the cornerback position,” wrote Knox. “The Las Vegas Raiders could also find a place for Hilton after losing slot corner Nate Hobbs in free agency,” the expert analyst added, placing both teams as real options for the player.
At 31 years old, Hilton has established himself as one of the most effective players in the league, where last season he had a career-high 38 defensive stops, earning a Pro Football Focus run defense grade of 91.7.
A necessary signing for both teams
For the Dallas Cowboys, the addition of Hilton would be a logical move. The team faces uncertainty at the cornerback position due to injuries to Trevon Diggs and rookie Shavon Revel Jr. A savvy veteran like Hilton could step into the starting nickelback role, bringing stability and leadership to the team.
On the other hand, the Las Vegas Raiders also have a clear need. Following the departure of their starting nickelback, Nate Hobbs, to the Green Bay Packers in free agency, the Raiders have not found a viable replacement.
