Could the Chargers bet on Shilo Sanders after he was cleared by Tampa Bay?

It was a crazy weekend for Shilo Sanders, who in a 24-hour period experienced the adrenaline rush, the dream of playing in the NFL and the consequences of a bad attitude. In the game against the Buffalo Bills, he was ejected for fighting in the preseason. It is a situation that is not unknown on the gridiron, but when they are looking for a place the last thing you should do is to show this type of behavior.

In this situation, Bucs head coach Tood Bowles looked at him with some disappointment. A few hours later, Tampa Bay’s front office decreed to erase him from the NFL rosterfor not being good enough. However, all is not lost for Deion Sanders’ eldest son where the Los Angeles Chargers could be his next destination. However, there may be a “short circuit” if Shilo does not change his attitude once Jim Harbaugh has exercised discipline within the Los Angeles squad.

The bad reputation Shilo Sanders has earned… without even making his debut

NFL analysts had certain expectations (not many) of Shilo Sanders’ performance in the hope of seeing an evolution in his game. But in the end they said: “No way”. Why? He has a top-notch surname thanks to his father, a Hall of Famer, but the now ex-Tampa Bay player was not a star at Colorado. He was not drafted and the Bucs signed him as a free agent. On his team, he received mediocre reviews and was not going to fit into a crowded and talented secondary.

Apart from Shilo’s mediocre talent, he is a proven hothead. He still has a $12 million lawsuit hanging over him. Add to that his Saturday night tantrum, which led to him throwing a punch and being ejected, and it just wasn’t worth it in Tampa. “You can’t throw punches in this league. It’s inexcusable. You’re always going to get hit. You have to learn from that,” said Todd Bowles.

Shilo Sanders’ last chances to stay in the NFL

Since he is not a veteran with acquired rights, Shilo will have to go through the waiver list. One of the teams that could sign him is the Tennessee Titans, who have the first chance to sign him, while the Los Angeles Chargers are 22nd on the list. Bleacher Report suggests that the best destinations for Shilo are the Bucs (for their practice squad), the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Philadelphia Eagles

Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh and general manager Joe Hortiz have to make tough decisions when trimming their roster to 53 players, but seriously consider that Shilo is not one of them. The Chargers have the safety position with Derwin James and Alohi Gilman, backed up by Tony Jefferson and Elijah Molden. In addition, in the secondary, this preseason, players such as Cam Hart, Tarheeb Still and Benjamin St-Juste have emerged to bolster the cornerback position.
