The former Iowa Hawkeyes guard and Indiana Pacers assistant coach posted multiple images from his time with Butler Bulldogs, alongside a message reflecting on his experience with the team.
“End of an era! Forever grateful to Coach Matta for the opportunity that he gave me. Learned a lot and worked with great people… excited for what’s next!” Connor McCaffery wrote in his caption.

McCaffery joined Butler Bulldogs in 2024 as an assistant coach after spending a year as a team assistant with the Indiana Pacers.
During his time with the program, the team finished 14-19 in his first season and 16-16 in his second, placing eighth and then seventh in the Big East.
With his departure now confirmed through his farewell message, McCaffery is set to look for his next opportunity after leaving the collegiate coaching role.
