Von Miller has achieved nearly everything a player can in the NFL. A two-time Super Bowl champion and MVP, Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2011, and an eight-time Pro Bowl selection, the star linebacker has little left to prove-except perhaps earning an executive role with a team.
Despite his longevity, Miller’s performance remains strong. Although he started only three games in the 2015 season, he logged significant snaps throughout the 17-week regular season, delivering standout numbers.
This year, the 15-year veteran recorded 26 tackles, 20 solo, and nine sacks-his best total since 2018, when he was still with the Denver Broncos.
Still, Miller knows he is closer to retirement than his prime. He is already preparing for his next chapter in the NFL: becoming a general manager.
Miller was learning at the Scouting Combine
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), thednvr.com beat reporter Zac Stevens quoted multiple sources as saying, “Von Miller spent part of this week at the NFL Scouting Combine, learning more about becoming a future GM.”
Von has long wanted to be a GM after his playing days, and he’s putting in the work to gain experience.
While most players are focused solely on their next contract, Miller has an ambitious plan for his post-NFL life. But he doesn’t intend to start from scratch.
The Combine is where scouts, coaches, and general managers gather to observe the best college talent. Thus, Miller has the best in the business in one place to learn everything from how to evaluate talent to how to build a roster.
Will Miller return to the Broncos?
Miller became a free agent at the end of the regular season after his one-year, $6.1 million contract with the Washington Commanders expired.
As free agency opens on March 11, the legendary linebacker is considering a reunion with his former team-even if only to find closure.
“It’s unfinished business for me and Broncos Country,” Miller said. “I was traded midseason. I didn’t have the opportunity to get closure. I didn’t even know what my last game in that stadium would be.”
