Colin Cowherd attacked Patrick Mahomes on his show; things are tough for the Kansas City Chiefs

Last season, the Kansas City Chiefs finished with a 15-2 record; however, it was a season full of doubts, mainly because they won several games by less than one possession, and most of those victories came in a rather fortunate manner.

There were many doubts about the Chiefs’ wins, especially due to numerous problems on offense, and it all came to light in the Super Bowl when they were crushed by the Philadelphia Eagles, 40-22. In that game, the offense was absent, only reacting in the fourth quarter-by which time everything was already lost.

In that Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes threw two interceptions, and his regular season numbers were far lower than in previous years. For the first time in his career-excluding his rookie season-he failed to surpass 4,000 passing yards and threw only 26 touchdown passes.

Colin Cowherd believes the Kansas City Chiefs dynasty is nearing its end

There’s no doubt the Chiefs quickly became a dynasty under Patrick Mahomes, but all good things must come to an end. Since 2018, they’ve always reached the AFC Championship Game, have made five Super Bowl appearances, and have won it three times.

But, as mentioned above, last season there were many doubts about the Chiefs, and Colin Cowherd on The Herd believes their dominance could end at any moment.

“And Mahomes is older and more expensive. There’s only one Travis Kelce, and he’s probably in his last year. Chris Jones isn’t getting any younger. And the truth is, Mahomes’ coach is 67-and I love Andy, but the likelihood of him physically lasting six or seven more years is probably very small,” Cowherd said.

The Kansas City Chiefs are favorites in betting markets to win the AFC, but competition in the conference is fierce, especially with the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens as their main rivals. Furthermore, within their division, the Chargers, Broncos, and Raiders all seem poised to step up their level of competition.
