Coco Gauff had quite the Thanksgiving celebration with her cousins, posting a video on Instagram alongside her family.
The tennis star gave fans a glimpse by posting on her stories as she and her cousins gathered and celebrated while eating and drinking.
“My name is Coco, and I’m the host. And I made sweet potato pie and banana bread. And I bought a honey-baked ham and Bud’s chicken,” Gauff stated in the video as she shared her food.
While Gauff’s post was done in order to give fans a glimpse of how she will be celebrating, it wasn’t warmly received by everyone.
One fan took the time to take a jab at Gauff and question her cooking abilities by writing: “Coco. You know you can’t cook. Your staff made that for you……”
Gauff hits back
While Gauff, like most celebrities, is no stranger to fans being rude, she didn’t take this particular comment laying down.
The tennis star decided it was time to hit back and responded: “@lenon705 you don’t even know me. Lol and what staff? all I made was pie and banana bread. It’s really not that hard.”
Gauff went on to explain that she didn’t gather with her cousins for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. When one fan asked about baked beans, she explained that everyone was asked to make what they could.
“Yes, it’s not traditional Thanksgiving food, but it was just us cousins and everyone was told to make what they think they could make well. Plus, I love baked beans and would eat them any time!,” she said.
