Clint Dempsey, a former USMNT player and now a sports analyst, remains the harshest critic of the USMNT coached by Argentine Mauricio Pochettino.

The USA legend spoke after the Americans’ defeat to South Korea in a friendly match.

What did Clint Dempsey say about the USMNT’s defeat to South Korea?

“God help us. If the United States had to qualify for the World Cup, I’m not sure if they would achieve the goal. The storm can’t last forever, someday the sun has to come out.”, Clint Dempsey.

Clint Dempsey is not alone

Other former USMNT players supported Clint Dempsey and criticized Mauricio Pochettino, such as Alexi Lalas, who said: “It’s not enough. Does Pochettino want me to believe that I should have confidence that the results are going to be good at the World Cup? Of course not.”

While Herculez Gomez said: “If you asked me if I think Mauricio Pochettino knew about the history of this program, including the finals won, the playoffs and the World Cup, the players’ equity, etc., I would say no“.
