Two of the best female heavyweight boxers are looking to unify the title. The division is crying out for a queen of boxing and this Saturday, July 26, the Little Caesars Arena, located in Detroit, Michigan will be the setting

Both Claressa Shields and Lani Daniels will be exposing their titles. The winner will be the monarch of the different organizations that govern professional boxing: IBF, WBC, WBF and WBO.

What can be expected from Claressa Shields?

Claressa Shields returns to the ring with a roar. The three-division undisputed champion returns to her hometown of Detroit to defend her title. Being the local fighter is a big advantage in boxing and will allow her to start as the crowd favorite.

  • Shields’ record is impressive. She is a 30-year-old boxer, unbeaten in 16 fights, who has managed to send three of her opponents to the canvas. She made her debut in 2016. She has an orthodox style and is known for her wisdom in the art of pugilism
  • This fight marks her return to the ring, after a one-month suspension. The boxer tested positive for marijuana
  • However, this incident was later clarified by the Michigan Boxing Commission, which acknowledged an error in the procedures when taking samples after the fight last February 2025, when the champion defeated Danielle Perkins.

“Faulty test!!!” Shields wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “The evidence proved it! The suspension was lifted a few days ago and today the complaint was closed! I am officially exonerated!”

Who is Lani Daniels? Her record and where she comes from

Lani Daniels is a heavyweight fighter. Born in New Zealand, she is the current heavyweight champion of the International Boxing Federation (IBF)

  • Her record is not as impressive as the American’s. She will step into the ring with a 11-2-2 record. Only one opponent has gone to the canvas because of her fists
  • Daniels, 37, represents a real threat. He does not have all the marketing paraphernalia of Shields, but he does have a good punch
  • She knows she will not have another opportunity like this to show herself to the general public. This could be the night of her consecration. She will fight against a legend of the yard
  • Record: 11-2-2 (1 KO).
  • Age: 37.
  • Nationality: New Zealander.
  • Debut: 2017.
  • Weight: Heavy.
