Chucky Lozano makes key proposal to San Diego FC to return to play ahead of 2026 World Cup

The relationship between Hirving “Chucky” Lozano and San Diego FC is going through one of its most tense moments since the Mexican striker’s arrival in Major League Soccer (MLS). However, in the midst of a dispute that seemed to have no way out, the winger has reportedly opted to take a turn and get closer to the US club’s board.

According to information that has come to light in recent hours, the Pachuca youth player has reportedly decided to listen to his agents and change his stance, with the aim of not compromising his sporting future in a key year ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Chucky Lozano changes his stance after advice from his agents

According to reports, the player’s entourage managed to steer him away from impulsive decisions and focus him on what they consider to be the best path for his career at this time. Lozano, aware that this could be his last World Cup, is said to have accepted the recommendation to prioritize playing time over any contractual conflict.

In this context, the former Napoli player has reportedly agreed to allow San Diego FC to be the one to find him a place at another club, something he had previously resisted. Until now, both the player and his team had tried to find a way out on their own, without success.

San Diego FC takes control of Mexican’s immediate future

Lozano’s proposal is that the MLS side manage his next destination without objection. The only condition the attacker is said to have put in place is to maintain a salary close to what he currently earns. If this is not achieved, San Diego FC would be willing to cover part of the salary together with the club that agrees to sign him.

If no viable option appears in the market, the Mexican would even be willing to stay in San Diego, accepting the sporting and contractual conditions imposed by the management, as long as he is allowed to play regularly.

World Cup 2026 pressures Chucky Lozano’s decision

The main reason behind this change of heart would be his situation with the Mexican national team. Chucky Lozano knows he needs continuity to stay on the national team’s radar, especially after the direct message he reportedly received from Javier Aguirre: play or else to be considered for the World Cup.

So far, this demand has not been fully met, and the lack of activity is beginning to generate concern both in the player’s environment and in the coaching staff of El Tri. Therefore, the Mexican would be willing to put aside his firm stance and be more flexible.

Lozano’s future to be decided in the coming weeks

With this decision, Hirving Lozano is looking to unblock a situation that has become untenable and regain prominence on the field. San Diego FC, for its part, maintains the position that the player will leave the club, so the next few weeks will be decisive in determining his future.

Meanwhile, the clock is ticking and the 2026 World Cup is getting closer and closer for a footballer who needs to get back to playing as soon as possible.
