Christmas movie showdown: Caitlin Clark vs. Aliyah Boston’s Holiday favorites

With the holidays right around the corner, everyone seems to be talking about Christmas traditions, from decorating the tree to enjoying time with loved ones.

But for Indiana Fever teammates Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston, the conversation turned to something a bit more cinematic: Christmas movies.

Christmas films are a staple of the season, and fans everywhere love debating which ones deserve a spot in the annual watchlist. Some argue that a Christmas movie must be fully centered around the holiday, while others are more lenient, including films that simply feature memorable Yuletide scenes.

For example, movies like Harry Potter or Die Hard have memorable Christmas moments, but purists might argue they don’t truly count as holiday films. Regardless of where you stand on that debate, it’s clear this topic can spark spirited discussion among friends and family.

Recently, Aliyah Boston, the Fever’s forward and one of the league’s rising stars, shared her personal list of favorite holiday films while appearing on the Post Moves podcast with WNBA legend Candace Parker.

Her ranking certainly leaned into nostalgia and fun, starting with the classic Home Alone franchise. Boston placed the original Home Alone at the top of her list, followed by Home Alone 2 and even Home Alone 3. When Parker pointed out that the third installment doesn’t feature Macaulay Culkin, Boston simply shrugged it off, insisting that it still counts as part of the Home Alone family.

She didn’t stop there. Boston also included Elf, the Will Ferrell holiday favorite, and rounded out her list with The Polar Express, admitting she only included it to make it a top five.

Boston‘s picks reflect a mix of classics and childhood nostalgia, showing how varied Christmas movie tastes can be even among close friends and teammates.

Clark’s conflicted reaction to Boston’s Christmas lineup

Caitlin Clark, known for her sharp shooting and social media presence as much as her basketball prowess, couldn’t help but weigh in. Clark commented on the Instagram post showcasing Boston‘s rankings, praising her teammate’s inclusion of Home Alone 3, writing, “Home alone 3. She just gets it .”

However, she couldn’t resist adding a playful caveat: Home Alone 3 shouldn’t necessarily be placed above Elf. Clark‘s lighthearted response showed respect for Boston‘s picks and a subtle clash in personal preference.

While this interaction doesn’t settle the larger debate about what qualifies as a “true” Christmas movie, it highlights the fun and friendly camaraderie between two of the Fever’s biggest personalities.
