Chris Eubank Jr. forgets about Conor Benn for a second and proudly declares Eddie Hearn hatred

He may not have lived up to the lofty expectations set in motion by his father, but Chris Eubank Jr. has carved out a very respectable career in boxing. Chris Eubank Sr. was a multiple weight world champion, playing a pivotal role in the rise of British boxing in the 1990s. In particular, his rivalry with Nigel Benn helped him gain global popularity.

Eubank Jr. hasn’t gotten the same notoriety, but his 35-3 record speaks for itself. Yet it was a renewed generational rivalry that sprung him into the public eye. Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn have been at each other’s throats for years now. It finally culminated in a bout at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in April, where Eubank Jr. came out victorious by unanimous decision. Eubank Jr. earned the bragging rights and made his father proud. But that wasn’t the end of it.

Chris Eubank Jr. despises Eddie Hearn

On November 15, Eubank Jr. and Benn will run it back in a rematch at the same venue. They have already started the heavy chirping, with a launch press conference taking place this week. During that press conference, the animosity was clear on both sides. But what surprised some was Eubank Jr.’s hatred of Benn’s promoter, Eddie Hearn.

While speaking to Ring Magazine, Eubank Jr. minced no words on the Matchroom Boxing chairman, mentioning several times that he’s a “bad guy“.

He’s a bad guy pretending to be a good guy. If he just owned being a bad guy then I wouldn’t have anything to say about him. But the fact he tries to act like he’s this nice guy that’s caring and doing all these things for people – he’s not. He’s a bad person, and he comes up here and he tries to take shots at me at my press conferences… He’s unsavory, he’s entitled, he is the definition of a scumbag.

Hearn’s words and actions have clearly rubbed Eubank Jr. the wrong way. As if the boxer needed any more motivation against his bitter rival in Benn, he now has every reason to come into the ring with an extra edge on November 15.
