Week 6 saw the Kansas City Chiefs get back on track. A tough loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars had the potential to sink the team, but Patrick Mahomes and co. came out strong against the Detroit Lions and moved to 3-3 on the season. But the win ended on a sour note, as a brawl broke out following the final whistle.
Lions safety Brian Branch became enraged, singling out Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. The two went at it, leading to Branch getting handed a one-game suspension while Smith-Schuster escaped with no punishment for being the “victim”. But a common sentiment has emerged following the fight: many people, including players, don’t like Smith-Schuster.
Why is JuJu Smith-Schuster so disliked by many?
Indianapolis Colts linebacker Zaire Franklin went on the Club 520 podcast this week and professed his hate of Smith-Schuster, saying that the wide receiver deserved what he got.
Even Philadelphia Eagles fans got in on the hating, with one claiming that JuJu had it coming no matter what happened beforehand.
The Chiefs have enough enemies due to their incredible success over the past seven years, so Mahomes and Andy Reid probably aren’t thrilled with the influx of more haters. Kansas City doesn’t seem to focus too much on external noise, so it shouldn’t be a problem, but Smith-Schuster may have a target on his back during certain games going forward.
