Chiefs defensive end Felix Anudike-Uzomah will be out for the entire 2025 NFL season after suffering a slow-healing injury. Kansas City head coach Andy Reid addressed the loss of a defensive player of Uzomah’s caliber, who suffered a fracture last week.
The Chiefs didn’t get much out of Felix Anudike-Uzomah in his first two seasons after selecting him in the first round of the draft. They won’t get anything out of him this season. He has appeared in 34 games, with three starts, totaling eight tackles for loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

The defensive end, a former first-round draft pick, will be sidelined for the foreseeable future due to a hamstring injury. He suffered the injury during Friday’s preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks while chasing rookie quarterback Jalen Milroe.
The highlight of his career thus far was a sack of CJ Stroud in their playoff win over the Houston Texans last season. The Chiefs also waived running back Elijah Young, re-signed defensive end Owen Carney, and added linebacker Xander Mueller on Monday.

“It’s a very tough thing,” Reid said this Monday. “He’s worked very hard… It’s disappointing for him, I know, because he works very hard.” It’s a significant blow to Patrick Mahomes and his teammates’ hopes of reclaiming their Super Bowl crown after February’s tough loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans.
Anudike-Uzomah, who grew up 13 miles from Arrowhead Stadium, has played in 34 games for the Chiefs, starting three times. The reigning AFC champions received some good news last week when it was announced that Rashee Rice would be available for the first four games of the season.
