Charlie Woods is still more than a year away from beginning his college golf career, but his commercial profile is already moving at a pace usually reserved for established stars.
The 17-year-old Florida State commit has signed an NIL agreement with TaylorMade, officially joining the same equipment brand that has worked with his father, Tiger Woods, since 2017.
The deal arrives with Charlie carrying a projected NIL valuation of about $3 million, according to Golf NIL Central.
TaylorMade announced the partnership with a short video showing Woods opening a locker and putting on one of the company’s hats.
“Just getting started. Welcome to the squad, Charlie Woods,” the brand wrote.
Woods said the agreement formalizes a relationship that had already been developing behind the scenes.
“Having TaylorMade in my corner has been great,” he said. “They’ve supported me a lot over the last year, and I’m really excited to officially be part of Team TaylorMade. So many great players have been a part of this team, and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead.”
The Woods name already translating into major NIL value
The striking part of the deal isn’t simply that Woods has signed with a major golf company. It’s how valuable his name has become before he has even reached college.
His projected $3 million NIL figure places him among the most marketable young golfers in the country, although that number shouldn’t be confused with the disclosed value of the TaylorMade contract itself.
NIL deals remain comparatively rare in junior and college golf. One top Division I coach estimated to Golfweek that only around 25 to 30 players in the sport are currently receiving meaningful compensation.
Woods is operating in a different commercial category because of his surname, but TaylorMade insists the attraction goes beyond family ties.
“We build our roster of athletes around those who are driven by the game of golf and have an unmatched desire to compete at the highest level,” TaylorMade president and CEO David Abeles said. “Charlie epitomizes that every time he tees it up.”
Woods has plenty to prove on the course
The attention surrounding Charlie remains significantly larger than his current junior ranking, which makes the next stage of his development especially important.
He won the 2025 AJGA Team TaylorMade Invitational and has also recorded strong finishes in major junior events, including a top-10 result at the Boys Junior PGA Championship.
Woods was competing at the Junior Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass when the TaylorMade deal was announced, opening with a one-under 71.
His equipment setup now features TaylorMade throughout most of the bag, including the Qi4D driver and fairway woods, P7CB and P7TW irons, MG5 wedges and a TP5x ball.
That connection with Tiger is impossible to ignore, particularly with the P7TW irons originally developed with his father’s input. Still, this deal represents another step toward creating a separate identity.
Charlie Woods will always carry one of the most famous surnames in golf. TaylorMade is now betting that his own career can eventually justify the attention already following him.
