In reaction to the NFL‘s decision, Lamb expressed his frustration on social media, stating, “Smh, i have plenty in mind.”
Since being drafted by the Cowboys in 2020, Lamb has been a standout performer. Over 81 games, he has amassed 6,339 receiving yards and 38 touchdowns, along with 388 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. Despite his personal success, the Cowboys faced challenges last season, finishing with a 7-10 record and missing the playoffs.
The team also underwent significant changes, including the departure of longtime head coach Mike McCarthy and the promotion of former offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer to the head coaching position. Lamb, who signed a four-year, $136 million contract extension in August 2024, had previously skipped portions of the offseason training while negotiating his new deal.
