Dallas Cowboys fans have had a rough time lately, but wide receiver CeeDee Lamb may have just made things worse with his latest take on a division rival.
During a recent interview with digital creator Katie Feeney, Lamb was asked about the most passionate fanbase in the NFL. His response? Not the Cowboys. Instead, he gave the edge to their NFC East rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles.
A controversial comment at the worst possible time
“Eagles… they’re crazy,” Lamb admitted. “Our fans are deep, but, I don’t wanna say nothing crazy, but the Eagles got it.”
The comment, seemingly innocent, has ignited backlash among Cowboys supporters, many of whom are already frustrated with the team’s struggles. After a disappointing 7-10 season, contract drama, and the front office failing to deliver on an “all-in” offseason, Dallas fans didn’t need another reason to be upset.
A brutal time for Dallas sports
Lamb’s comment comes amid a miserable stretch for Dallas sports fans. The Cowboys‘ humiliating Wild Card loss to the Green Bay Packers capped off what was supposed to be a promising season. Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks recently traded Luka Doncic, shocking the basketball world and adding to the city’s sports misery.
Watching their division rivals, the Eagles and Washington Commanders, battle for a conference championship only made things worse for Cowboys Nation. And now, hearing their own star receiver praise Philadelphia’s fans? Salt in the wound.
Is Lamb still committed to Dallas?
Despite the backlash, Lamb remains loyal to the Cowboys. He has vocally supported keeping teammate Micah Parsons, even shutting down trade rumors on social media. His passion for winning in Dallas is clear.
Still, his comment about Eagles fans was a misstep. When the cameras are rolling, some questions require careful answers especially when discussing the loyalty of the Cowboys faithful.
