CBS makes a tough decision and drops a three-time Pro Bowler from its 2025 broadcasts

Tiki Barber will not be part of CBS Sports’ NFL coverage this season, ending a five-year run as a game analyst with the network. The former Pro Bowl running back, who had been calling games since 2019, was noticeably absent when CBS announced its 2025 broadcast teams last week.

While major voices such as Jim Nantz, Tony Romo, and Ian Eagle will continue to headline CBS’s NFL slate, Barber was left off the roster.

He had previously worked alongside play-by-play announcers such as Andrew Catalon and Matt Ryan, providing color commentary across the network’s secondary game teams.

No official explanation was given for the change, but Charles Davis is now expected to assume the role Barber previously held.

Though CBS is moving in a new direction, Barber won’t be stepping away from football media. Instead, he’s returning to familiar territory.

Back on the Giants airwaves with a new voice and old passion

Barber is set to join the New York Giants‘ gameday radio crew on WFAN, partnering with Giants.com reporter John Schmeelk to provide analysis throughout the upcoming NFL season.

The move reunites him with the organization where he spent his entire playing career and cements his place in the team’s ongoing media landscape.

“I am really excited to be joining the Giants gameday radio broadcast team on WFAN. This organization has meant so much to me, professionally and personally,” Barber said.

“The Giants have a long history of legendary broadcasters and Wellington Mara always told them to call it like they see it because our fans know better. I look forward to providing analysis and insight that Giants fans appreciate.”

Barber, who played ten seasons in New York and retired as the franchise’s all-time leading rusher, has remained a vocal and visible figure in New York sports. His deep connection to the team, combined with his candid style and football knowledge, makes him a natural fit for the broadcast booth on Giants game days.

Alongside his new gig with the Giants, Barber will continue co-hosting the weekday afternoon show “Evan & Tiki” on WFAN Radio.

The show has developed a strong following since launching in 2023 and features Barber‘s often fiery takes on both local and national sports stories. His presence on the station has made him one of the more prominent media personalities in the New York market.
