Carlos Rodon ties negative record in New York Yankees history

For the New York Yankees, Carlos Rodon has been an important piece from the mound as a starting pitcher. However, this season the left-hander made negative history with a rather strange mark which he will not want to boast about on social media nor that it is mentioned in public opinion after his appearance against the San Francisco Giants where he received a pair of home runs.

According to the “New York Yankees Stats” portal, the negative mark that Rodon has tied is having allowed 51 home runs in his first 50 games with the Bronx team. This record matches what J.A. Happ did in his first 50 starts with the Yankees. In other words, Rodon tied him at the top in a record to forget even for MLB itself.

Carlos Rondon and the half a hundred home runs allowed

This statistic makes one reflect on how unpredictable Yankee Stadium is, where pitchers cannot keep the ball inside the park. This is because the right field dimension is shorter compared to other parks, so a simple routine fly ball can become a home run.

For Carlos Rodon, his status as a left-handed pitcher opens up the strike zone more so with a slight deviation in his pitching he can cause a home run to right field in the blink of an eye. That is why both the New York Yankees manager and Carlos Rodon himself must improve their pitching against right-handed players.

Carlos Rodon’s talent is on display at Yankee Stadium

Without a doubt, one of the most reliable starting pitchers with the New York Yankees is Carlos Rodon, who is in his best form and has been dominant in at least five innings, once 74% of the home runs allowed have been between the fifth and sixth inning. However, injuries have taken their toll on him, so manager Aaron Boone will have to work on a strategy that will allow him to improve his performance without forcing him into a new relapse.

It should be noted that the New York Yankees do not have one of the best records in their first 15 games, with a modest margin of eight wins and seven losses. They remain in second place in the American League East Division, so they will be able to improve as the games go by and make the torpedo bats explode with greater intensity.
