Carlos Correa’s message after Houston Astros’ failure

Houston Astros fans showed their disappointment after the team was officially eliminated from MLB playoff contention. The streak of eight consecutive seasons with postseason appearances, which included two World Series titles, was dramatically cut short thanks to a Cleveland Guardians victory over the Texas Rangers in their penultimate game of the regular season.

The end of a long streak

The Astros’ elimination marks the first time since 2016 that the team will be absent from the October party. The final result of the game between Guardians and Rangers, where Cleveland sealed its pass by leaving Texas on the field in the last inning, extinguished all hope for Houston while they were playing their own game.

The disappointment is quite great and both players and fans of the club know it, so the mood is not the best and the demonstrations via social networks were not long in coming.

Carlos Correa apologizes

After the Astros’ 6-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels, Carlos Correa, who returned to the team at the trade deadline, offered a public apology to fans.

“I want to apologize to the fans in Houston for not living up to expectations. It’s not what they’re used to. They expect to see playoff baseball every year… We promise that this offseason will be a lot of hard work. We’re all going to get better. Next year will be one to remember,” Correa said.

After this failure, the team promised to improve for what is coming next, however, this does not reassure the fans, who are disappointed and very upset with the performance exhibited.
