Cardi B is speaking out following reports of a paternity dispute involving her boyfriend, Stefon Diggs, taking what many saw as a direct shot at a woman who claims the New England Patriots wide receiver fathered her child.
The rapper, who recently announced she is expecting her own baby with the 31-year-old NFL star, used a recent Instagram Live session to address the growing drama.
Her remarks echoed the famous intro to Shirley Brown‘s 1974 hit Woman to Woman, in what appeared to be a pointed message toward the other mother, an influencer who goes by the name Lord Gisselle online.
“Hello Barbara? This is Shirley,” Cardi B said. “That’s your baby daddy, bh? That’s my baby daddy, too. What now? I don’t fking know. We’ll figure it out, b**h.”
Paternity lawsuit and legal filings revealed
This public moment came in response to legal action filed by Aileen Lopera (a.k.a. Lord Gisselle), who submitted a petition to the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles in December 2024, naming Diggs as the father of her then-unborn daughter.
The suit, first reported by Page Six, requests full legal and physical custody of the child, now known as Charliee Harper Diggs-Lopera, born on April 2.
Lopera’s filing also asked that Diggs receive only visitation rights and cover all medical and legal expenses related to the pregnancy and birth.
In a July 2025 court response, Diggs stated that he was “not certain” he is the child’s father and formally requested a DNA test. However, he did indicate that if paternity is confirmed, he intends to pursue shared custody.
The lawsuit has become increasingly high-profile, particularly after Cardi B confirmed her pregnancy with Diggs just last week, marking a dramatic turn in the NFL star’s personal life.
Diggs, who already has one daughter, Nova (born in 2016 with ex Tyler-Marie), has yet to publicly comment on the ongoing paternity suit involving Lopera.
Hospital footage raises new questions
The legal matter gained further public attention after TMZ published video footage showing Diggs leaving a hospital in New York City with a baby carrier.
The video, reportedly recorded in August 2025, four months after Charliee was born, shows him placing the carrier in an SUV. An unidentified woman can be seen in the front seat of the vehicle.
However, Lopera’s attorney, Tamar Arminak, confirmed to Page Six that the woman in the video was not her client.
“I can confirm that is not my client in the video and no car seat has been provided to her,” said Arminak.
“My client looks forward to the day Mr. Diggs finally meets, acknowledges, and provides for the infant daughter they share.”
Just one day after the hospital video surfaced, Diggs went public with his relationship with Cardi B, fueling even more online speculation and media interest.
As the situation unfolds, both Cardi B and Stefon Diggs continue to face intense public scrutiny, as their private lives intersect with legal action.
