The fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford is already considered by many to be the fight of the year. That is the level of expectation for this event, which is reflected in the ticket sales, which at the moment is the third highest grossing fight in history.

This was revealed by Dana White, CEO of the UFC, who shared the resounding success of his first major event under the Zuffa Boxing brand, in partnership with Saudi businessman Turki Alalshikh.

White, who officially launched this new promotion in March 2025, says this fight is a “once-in-a-lifetime event”, as it will not only see the undisputed super middleweight title at stake, but also marks the beginning of a new era for international boxing.

Canelo vs Crawford could break record for largest attendance

The Allegiant Stadium, with a capacity of 65,000 fans, is expected to be filled to capacity, breaking attendance records in the history of boxing in Las Vegas.

The fight Canelo vs Crawford is currently the third biggest of all time:

  1. Mayweather vs Pacquiao: $72.2 million
  2. Mayweather vs McGregor: $55.4 million
  3. Canelo vs Crawford: With numbers still rising

How much will Canelo Alvarez earn for fighting Crawford?

The Mexican champion will have the biggest purse of his career: $150 million guaranteed. According to reports, the total purse for the fight amounts to $200 million, of which $50 million will go to Crawford.

With this figure, Canelo surpasses the 100 million obtained in his fight against William Scull and leaves behind the 45 million of his trilogy against Gennady Golovkin or the 40 million he collected against Caleb Plant.

Who is the favorite between Canelo and Crawford?

The odds place Canelo Alvarez as a slight favorite, mainly because of his dominance in the super middleweight division. However, Crawford is undefeated and is one of the most technical fighters today.

The clash of styles promises an intense fight: the power and experience of Canelo against the speed and precision of “Bud” Crawford.

The Canelo vs Crawford showdown will go down in history not only for its sporting significance, but also for its economic impact. With a $200 million purse at stake and the pride of two undefeated champions in different divisions, Las Vegas will be the scene of one of the most anticipated and lucrative fights in recent times.

When and where to watch the fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford?

The fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford is scheduled for September 13, 2025, at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, with exclusive broadcast via Netflix.
