The highly anticipated fight between Canelo and Crawford is approaching, and there are still vacancies available for the card, as confirmed by Turki Alalshikh. The president of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority is continuing to work to put together a card worthy of what is shaping up to be one of the most important boxing events in recent years.
While the main event promises a historic clash between two of the biggest names in boxing today, attention has also focused on building a solid and attractive undercard to complement the event without overshadowing it or exhausting the audience before the main course.
Full card for Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford
Among the fights already being considered for the main card are bouts such as Jared Anderson vs. Jarrell Miller, Bakhram Murtazaliev vs. Josh Kelly, and Abdullah Mason vs. Sam Noakes. However, there are still some fights to be defined, especially on the preliminary card, which could include between six and 10 additional bouts.
In this context, Turki Alalshikh has launched a new public call through his official account on X, announcing that there are three spaces available on the main card, which means an opportunity for six young boxers.
“We are less than 90 days away from #CaneloCrawford. And I’m looking for young, hungry fighters to showcase their talent. We have 3 spots available for 6 fighters,” wrote Alalshikh.
However, access to these spaces will not be automatic. Alalshikh made it clear that those interested will have to justify their place. “If you are a future legend, tell me why you deserve to be in the spotlight of this historic event. Include a training video and tag @ringmagazine,” he said.
This presents an invaluable opportunity for any boxer, as there is currently no better showcase than in the fights leading up to the highly anticipated bout of the Mexican boxer and on such a popular platform with so many subscribers as Netflix.
Canelo vs Crawford undercard candidates
Among the talents the Saudi official has previously mentioned are Junto Nakatani, Christian Mbilli and Nishant Dev, among others. The latter has generated special attention on social media following a post by MMA India that all but confirmed him for the card.
However, voices from the environment, such as coach and analyst Angelo Reyes, qualified the situation. “Nishant Dev will fight this Saturday on the Hitchins vs. Kambosos card in New York. If he comes out uninjured, then he will probably be on the Canelo vs. Crawford card,” wrote Reyes, making it clear that his participation is not yet guaranteed. After his unanimous decision victory on June 14, Dev has already announced his next fight for July 19, which complicates his availability for September.
