Canelo Alvarez hits Ilia Topuria: “I’m the one who puts them on my list”

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez continues to prepare for his fight on September 13 against Terence Crawford in Las Vegas. After the birth of his fifth daughter, the Mexican pugilist emphatically rejected any possibility of seeing him fight Ilia Topuria, double champion of the UFC.

Topuria has been trying for more than a year to reach the Mexican, however, it is Canelo himself who extinguishes any illusion by making it clear that the profile of the mixed martial arts fighter is not in his interests.

Likewise, Canelo Alvarez sent a message to anyone who stands in front of the Mexican, as he is the one who decides his opponents.

“Nobody can put me on their list just like that. I’m the one who puts them on my list, and now it’s if I want to. Now it’s not in my plans, for the moment, no. I’m 100 percent focused on Crawford,” he told AS.

It is worth noting that Alvarez and his wife Fernanda Gomez had their second daughter this week, whom they named Eva Victoria. It will be in the next few days when Alvarez will return to focus on his preparation for the fight that will mean his farewell to Las Vegas.

The boxer will no longer fight in the neighboring country, at least in 2026, as he will do so in Saudi Arabia as part of the contract he signed with the Arab sheikh, Turki Alalshikh, earlier this year.
