Calling it the “fight of the century” may be a bit of hyperbole, but there haven’t been too many recent boxing bouts with more pull than the upcoming Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford battle. Two of the best boxers in the history of the sport will go toe-to-toe. Both must be fully ready, and Alvarez certainly has the trainer and team to help him achieve that.
His trainer, Eddy Reynoso, and the “Canelo Team” don’t like to take days off. It’s why they’ve gotten to the pinnacle of the sport together. With Crawford in their sights, Canelo and Reynoso decided to step out of the gym and look outward for their next training session. They headed to Del Mar Beach in California and put together a workout.
Canelo Alvarez is less than three months away from fighting Terence Crawford
The whole team went for a light jog first. While Reynoso looked on, Canelo and co. did some shadow-boxing on gravel. It was a nice way for the boxer and his teammates to connect with nature, while also getting exercise in.
Alvarez hasn’t stopped training since his last fight in May against William Scull, so he’s in tip-top shape. But the true work will begin very soon, as his training camp will ramp up once we get closer to the Crawford fight.
While Alvarez still has a little bit of time to rest before really getting going, the fight is closer than it might seem. We’re less than three months away from the event taking place in Las Vegas. Alvarez is certainly in the right mindspace, and he’s soon to be in the perfect physical shape for it.
