While he recovers, the boxing world is waiting to see what the next step in his career will be after he lost his belts in the super middleweight division.

And that clarity to know the immediate future of Saul Alvarez (63-3-2) would come soon, according to reports from Salvador Rodriguez of ESPN.
“I knew that plan A was the rematch with Terence Crawford, that’s why Saul undergoes this surgery on an elbow. And I knew that they intended to seek revenge. He was obviously surprised by a Crawford who spent a year working precisely to face Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez
“For me yes, it’s option A (Crawford). However, I’ve just been told there’s an interesting option B. I’m working on it with my sources, there’s another option that may come up very soon. Approximately Canelo’s fights for May are being worked on at the end of January, so there is still some time,” reports Infobae about the boxing specialist.

But boxing fans can forget about seeing Saul Alvarez in the ring in May, as Eddy Reynoso confirmed that he will not fight again until September.
Canelo’s trainer told TV Azteca that Alvarez is recovering and although he is already training, the plan is to return to fight in September and with the goal set on Crawford (42-0).
