Canelo Alvarez and Turki Al Sheikh could finalize fight against David Benavidez

Hope is the last thing to die and this is quite clear to David Benavidez, who does not give up his interest in fighting against the great Mexican champion, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez. That is why the American boxer himself hopes that the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world can realize his long-awaited fight and all thanks to Turki Al-Sheikh.

This comes after David Benavidez himself expressed his enthusiasm for the multi-million dollar contract that Canelo Alvarez signed with the Arab conglomerate to fight in 2025 and 2026.

David Benavidez does not stop dreaming of a fight against Canelo Alvarez

Although there is no tangible sign, David Benavidez has not lost hope of finally fighting Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, thanks precisely to the new contract signed by the 168-pound champion with the Arab sports authority, Turki Al-Sheikh.

The American boxer explained in an interview on YouTube for the Boxing King Media channel about this issue and how he considers that a successful negotiation could be made so that the fight is possible, among the next five that Canelo signed with the Arab authority.

“He (Turki) said it was a possibility, that he could make that fight happen. But at the end of the day we take one fight at a time. I’m trying to make the next fight happen, and now the next fight is for all the belts and that’s what I’m most interested in,” he said, indicating that “he can’t confirm anything yet, but he thinks it can happen”.

The fights Canelo Alvarez already has lined up

In addition, the victory over David Morrell gave him a new boost to his career, which would allow him to be on the radar of both Canelo and the brand new undisputed light heavyweight champion, Dmitry Bivol, after the World Boxing Council (WBC) named him mandatory challenger. However, WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman considered that there could be a trilogy between Bivol and Artur Beterbiev.

Meanwhile, Canelo has confirmed his fight on May 3 against Cuban William Scull for the undisputed super middleweight title, while for September he is in advanced negotiations with Terence Crawford, although it is not yet closed in a path that could finally lead him to David Benavidez.
