It is no secret that the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world is the historic Mexican, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, so, as a more than authorized voice, he has made known what he thinks, after the creation of the new Boxing League led by Turki Al-Sheikh together with WWE and UFC.

Faced with the news that has revolutionized the boxing world, Canelo Alvarez wanted to give his impressions of this alliance of His Excellency with the company TKO so that a new format is born under which belts will be disputed for each of the boxers, thinking of a better future for one of the most important sports in history.

What does Canelo Alvarez think about the new boxing league created by Turki Al Sheikh?

This is how Canelo Alvarez was questioned to comment on what he thinks about the news of the week and of recent times in boxing with the alliance of this sport with the magnitude of sports companies WWE and UFC.

“I think if it’s best for the boxers, I agree. I think TKO will be the best for the boxers. I’m pretty sure of that. I’m glad that someone takes good care of the boxers because there are a lot of promoters who don’t take boxers seriously. I think this is good for boxing and for the boxers, especially,” said Canelo Alvarez in an interview with CBS Sports about the news of the new Boxing League.

In addition, Saul Alvarez acknowledged that, once his fight in May takes place, he will sit down with Turki Al-Sheikh and TKO to define his next opponent in 2025.

“I always have the opportunity to fight in September in Las Vegas. Those are my dates, plus May 5 and everyone knows it. We have to take care of the fight that comes in May against Willie Scull, but there is the opportunity to fight in Las Vegas in September and be the first event for TKO as a promoter,” he said.

Turki Al Sheikh revolutionises boxing by confirming creation of league in partnership with WWE and UFC

This comes with the arrival of a new era for boxing with the confirmation of the creation of a league, led by Turki Al-Sheikh, in a great alliance with WWE (chaired by Nick Khan) and the UFC (headed by Dana White) in a story that is expected to be a complete worldwide revolution.

This is how His Excellency has successfully concluded negotiations with TKO (the company that owns the Mixed Martial Arts company, UFC, and the American Wrestling company, WWE) to finalize the birth of a boxing league in which Saudi Arabia is expected to be the base from which it will seek to once again push this magical sport to the top, which in recent years seems to have been overtaken by others in the preferences of the public.

How many more years will Canelo Alvarez be active?

In addition to this, at 34 years of age, Saul Alvarez himself acknowledged in an interview with legendary former soccer player Hugo Sanchez that he plans to continue putting on the gloves for at least another three or four years.

“From 28-29 years old, at this age is where I have felt best. I have always said that at 37 years old is a good age to enjoy what I have done with my family, other things in my career and that’s what I say; but I said I would debut at 18 and I did it at 15,” said Canelo Alvarez.

Canelo Alvarez wants to fight at the Estadio Azteca before retiring

But before thinking about leaving, Canelo warned that first he wants to organize a fight in the largest sports venue in Mexico, the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, which could be finalized with TKO in the future.

“Yes, I am interested in fighting at the Estadio Azteca. I would love to have a fight before I retire at the Azteca,” commented Canelo Alvarez on the last moments he plans for his successful sporting career.
