Cameron Brink’s mother defends her against criticism over All-Star outfit: ‘Half-naked as always’

The NBA All-Star Weekend in San Francisco was packed with jaw-dropping moments-from Mac McClung’sunreal dunks to Tyler Herro’ssharpshooting. But Los Angeles Sparks rookie Cameron Brink managed to turn heads just as much off the court as on it.

Brink, still rehabbing from an ACL tear that cut her debut WNBA season short, made an appearance at the event alongside fellow WNBA players Rickea Jackson and Aliyah Edwards. While the weekend was all about basketball, it was Brink’s outfit that got people talking. She rocked a bold two-piece set-a cropped top with a matching miniskirt-paired with thigh-high black boots. The look was a hit for many, but not everyone was a fan.

One social media user took issue with the ensemble, commenting, “Half naked as always… Always wanting to show your junk… Sad.” The remark could’ve been ignored, but Brink’s mother, Michelle Bain-Brink, had other plans. She fired back with a simple yet sharp response: “Don’t look, creep.”

The online critic didn’t back down, attempting to justify the comment by saying Brink’s image“just pops up” and that they were simply “stating the obvious.” But by then, it was clear-the internet had already rallied behind Brink and her mother’s quick-witted reply.

Brink’s fashion, confidence, and future in basketball

This isn’t the first time Brink has made waves with her fashion choices. In November 2024, she was featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue 2025, where she sported a sleek white bikini in a shoot she called “super empowering.” Brink has been vocal about embracing her confidence, both on and off the court, and sees fashion as another form of self-expression.

Her mother has been a major influence in that area. Brink has shared in interviews that her pre-game outfits are often inspired by her mom, who has always encouraged her to own her style. “We’ve always loved fashion,” Brink once said, emphasizing that what she wears is about personal confidence rather than external validation.

While Brink is making a name for herself in fashion and media, basketball remains the focus. She was set to compete for Team USA in the 3×3 event at the 2024 Paris Olympics before her injury, and though she won’t be suiting up in the WNBA this season, she’s already planning her return. She recently signed a multi-year deal with the Lunar Owls of the new Unrivaled league, co-founded by WNBA stars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart. Though she won’t debut until 2026, Brink has made it clear she’s ready for the challenge.

For now, though, she’s staying in the conversation-whether it’s about her game or her wardrobe. And if anyone has a problem with that, her mom will be more than happy to set them straight.
