Calvin Ridley gets a second chance to prove himself. After his 2025 season was cut short by injury, the star wide receiver will return to the Tennessee Titans with a point to prove and a team-friendly contract.
Looking to bounce back from a forgettable season, the front office is making sure to give quarterback Cam Ward the best possible arsenal for his sophomore season.
Ward had a tough 2025 season. To remedy that, the team is rebuilding its receiving corps from the ground up with the signings of free agents such as:
- Wan’Dale Robinson (WR)
- Daniel Bellinger (TE)
- Bryce Oliver (WR)
To all of them is added Ridley, who returns seeking redemption.
Calvin Ridley’s new contract
Sources within the team informed ESPN insider Turron Davenport of Ridley’s return with a restructured contract following an injury-plagued 2025 season.
Ridley was entering the third year of a four-year, $92 million contract, including $50 million guaranteed, which he signed in 2024.
The restructuring helped the Titans redistribute a $26.5 million salary cap hit while retaining the nine-year veteran.
While the contract terms have not been disclosed, according to Davenport, the front office used the cap space to sign Robinson from the Buffalo Bills to a four-year, $78 million deal.
Ridley will look to bounce back in 2026
The former Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver played only seven games in 2025. First, a hamstring injury suffered in Week 6 sidelined him for the next three games.
His return in Week 11 was no more fortunate, as a fractured fibula in the game against the Houston Texans ended his season.
Ridley finished the year with just 17 receptions for 303 yards, after recording 64 catches, 1,117 yards, and four touchdowns in 2024.
Now, it remains to be seen what role Ridley will play in the game plan of the Titans’ new offensive coordinator, Brian Daboll.
