There was almost a universal consensus when it came to the top quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft. Most had Cam Ward as the best prospect at that position, with Shedeur Sanders right behind him. Sure, there were some who preferred Jaxson Dart to Sanders, but they were few and far between. So when Sanders fell all the way to the fifth round, it was a shock to anyone and everyone. The player who was neck-and-neck with Ward at one point in the draft process, was now an afterthought in the NFL.
That had analysts and fans going back into their evaluations, trying to find reasons for Sanders’ slide. The overarching thought was that Sanders gave off a vibe that was too cocky or brash for NFL front offices.
