Cam Skattebo heats up New York Giants training camp

The New York Giants officially kicked off their training camp on Wednesday at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Right away, the spotlight was on two names: quarterback Jaxson Dart and, above all, running back Cam Skattebo, who quickly became the center of attention among players, coaches, and fans.

Selected in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft (105th overall), Skattebo arrives from Arizona State with a reputation for explosiveness, intensity, and leadership. Expectations are high-and rightfully so. His physical and aggressive style is set to shake up the depth in New York’s backfield under head coach Brian Daboll.

Giants fans react to Skattebo’s energy

In just two seasons with the Arizona State Sun Devils, Cam Skattebo racked up 2,494 rushing yards and scored 34 touchdowns, leaving a lasting legacy under head coach Kenny Dillingham. He averaged 5.5 yards per carry, a testament to his efficiency and his knack for breaking off big plays from anywhere on the field.

His college resume positions him as a complete back-powerful, agile, and equipped with solid field vision. Now, he must prove that he can rise to the challenge in the NFL, where competition in the Giants’ backfield is already fierce.
