Cam Miller reacts to Tom Brady’s comments about him and reveals he has gone months without speaking to Raiders supremo

Las Vegas Raiders rookie quarterback Cam Miller opened up about the weight and significance of Tom Brady’s public praise – even as Miller has not had any personal interaction with the legendary quarterback for several months.

Brady, who owns a minority stake in the Raiders, endorsed Miller’s selection during the 2025 NFL Draft, and Miller described the experience as “very humbling.”

The Las Vegas franchise selected Miller from North Dakota State in the sixth round – later than some projected given his college achievements. But Brady reportedly saw something in his form on tape.

“His technique, throwing from the ground up and his motion,” qualities that led Brady to support the pick behind closed doors, according to Raiders GM John Spytek. Despite that, Miller acknowledged on record he hasn’t had a conversation with Brady since being drafted.

Rookie perspective takes over: Gratitude and quiet development

Miller explained that while Brady’s endorsement was largely indirect, it has driven him to work even harder. As he put it: “That’s very humbling.” The recognition came not through a handshake, but through the endorsement reaching the front office and amplifying belief in his potential.

In training camp, Miller remains the third-string quarterback behind starter Geno Smith and backup Aidan O’Connell. Despite limited reps, observers-including coaches and teammates-note his sound mechanics and mental composure.

An SI report confirmed that while Miller serves in a development role, his technique and polish-qualities identified by Brady-remain the motivating forces behind the endorsement.

Interestingly, Miller has not appeared to rely on Brady’s public acclaim for confidence. He credits general manager Spytek and coach Pete Carroll for laying out training plans and letting on-field performance speak for itself. Players say Miller remains humble, focused, and quietly driven-a reflection, perhaps, of the developmental path Brady himself once took.

Brady’s role in selecting quarterbacks for the Raiders has drawn scrutiny-and his own statements clarify he was not officially part of draft decisions. On the Impaulsive podcast, Brady stated: “I wasn’t part of any evaluation process.”

But Spytek later confirmed that although Brady wasn’t present at the Raiders war room, he did communicate and share opinions with the team’s decision-makers. The difference of views suggests Miller’s endorsement was part of that context: privately shared and influential, but not directive.

Cam Miller’s similar path to Tom Brady

This dynamic echoes Brady’s personal story: a sixth-round pick who worked his way up to seven Super Bowls. Now, as co-owner of a franchise, he reportedly values underdog traits in players like Miller-solid form, clean technique, and room to grow-over headline status.

Brady’s nod to Miller is seen as a signal that fundamentals and character still matter, even in an era obsessed with metrics and hype.

As Miller settles into his new role, he appears focused on building quietly behind veterans, absorbing knowledge, and executing daily. He may not hold a conversation with Brady for some time-if at all-but the endorsement already resonates.
