Sophie Cunningham couldn’t help but react with disbelief after Caitlin Clark appeared in a widely shared photo alongside comedy legend Adam Sandler.
The Indiana Fever rookie attended Sandler’s “You’re My Best Friend” tour event on Monday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, her home arena, and met the actor backstage.
Sandler later posted a photo of their encounter on Instagram, writing, “Indiana! Holy cow! Great Monday hang! Can’t wait for the next one! @gainbridgefieldhouse.”
The post quickly gained attention, racking up over 112,000 likes in just a few hours. Fans were thrilled to see Clark with the beloved comedian, but it was Cunningham‘s comment that stood out. She simply wrote, “NO WAY,” summing up the surprise many felt seeing the two together.

As she enters free agency, Cunningham has expressed interest in returning to Indiana, but she’s also open to exploring other opportunities.
“When you’ve been through this type of season together, when you’re invested in each other’s lives outside of basketball, of course you want to come back,” she said in her exit interview.
“I’m definitely gonna be entertaining other teams, other offers, but… I’ve had a great time here, and I’d like to continue that. But I also think with the new CBA, there’s a lot on the line.”
