Caitlin Clark’s strong character plays a trick on her as she argues with a referee in search of justice

After missing the last five games with the Indiana Fever after suffering a left quadriceps strain – the first injury of her career – Caitlin Clark was back on the court and in style!

New York Liberty was the prey of a CC hungry for victory. She and the Fever cut short their winning streak (which had been undefeated at 9-0) and took the 102-88 win.

In the first quarter alone, the WNBA star hit three nine-meter three-pointers in just 38 seconds. And her performance not only ended with 32 points, eight rebounds and nine assists, but Clark took something else with her.

Despite the comfortable win, during the first quarter, Caitlin did not hold back and received a technical foul for questioning and arguing a decision by the referee, Biniam Maru.

The stain on the victory

CC threw a pass to Sophie Cunningham for a layup, but Kennedy Burke previewed the play and blocked it. The Liberty forward’s action was called “an obvious foul that was overlooked” according to ESPN commentators. That wasn’t the biggest problem, however, but the ball went out of bounds when Burke threw it in.

This made Clark not hesitate to show her annoyance with the referee, to whom she questioned her decision, and he penalized her with her first technical foul of the season.

Last year, the 23-year-old was one technical foul away from missing a game, as only eight are allowed before being penalized and Clark had 7. Despite this, the Fever star shined and made it clear that she came back recharged.
