Caitlin Clark’s return could be eased and enhanced thanks to a new plan from Indiana Fever

After completing her rookie year in the WNBA, Caitlin Clark’s second year has been overshadowed by injuries.

On May 26, it was confirmed that CC would have to sit out due to a strained left quadriceps. That injury kept her out for five games.

A month later, her left groin injury has also caused Clark to support the team from the bench during the last five games the Indiana Fever has played.

However, everything indicates that her recovery is on track, after she was seen training.

Although the 23-year-old point guard did not participate in full-court drills, seeing her move, shoot, and participate in live play again was a promising sign.

This has raised hopes among her fans, who hope she will be ready to face the Golden State Valkyries on Wednesday.

Clark’s return is eagerly awaited by one of her teammates

Although there is no official confirmation of her return, when she is finally able to return to the court, she will have a new teammate to boost her game and ease the burden on the offense.

After Indiana parted ways with DeWanna Bonner late last month, Aari McDonald joined the Fever. The third pick in the 2021 WNBA draft was re-signed by the team, and Stephanie White believes she will be a key piece in continuing to boost Indiana’s and Clark’s game.

“I think it will be really good to be able to get Caitlin off the ball a little bit more in certain situations, and playing on the floor with Aari gives her that opportunity to do that,” White said after practice on Monday.

“I think it can give her and our team different looks when that happens. This is the first time we’ve been able to practice that, so I look forward to exploring that a little bit more.”

The truth is that Aari joined the team hoping to fill in for Clark and Sophie Cunningham while they recovered from their injuries. However, they were also seen training together, demonstrating a unique chemistry. Now, together, they are the team’s ace in the hole to improve the team’s 9-9 record.

Will McDonald really be the solution to the Fever’s problems and Clark’s relief? Only time will tell.
