Caitlin Clark’s night out in Indy sparks buzz across the Internet

Caitlin Clark‘s first WNBA All-Star break was supposed to be a celebration of her breakout rookie season.

Instead, it’s become a mixture of injury updates, missed opportunities, and one headline-grabbing night out that has fans buzzing.

The Indiana Fever star was ruled out of the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game and three-point competition after suffering a groin injury in the closing moments of Tuesday’s win over the Connecticut Sun.

Though Indiana improved to 12-10 with the victory, the focus quickly shifted to Clark‘s status after she was seen limping and holding her right thigh while walking slowly up the court.

The moment was captured on the game broadcast: after delivering an assist to Kelsey Mitchell for a game-sealing layup, Clark appeared to grimace in pain, spoke briefly with Aliyah Boston, and then leaned against the basket stanchion-clearly in discomfort.

The team confirmed shortly after the game that she had aggravated a right groin issue and would be skipping the All-Star festivities.

With Clark sidelined, the WNBA named Fever teammate Lexie Hull as her replacement in the three-point contest.

The Fever, who have been gaining momentum in recent weeks, will now hope their star guard recovers in time for their July 22 matchup on the road against the New York Liberty.

Clark’s Club Appearance Sparks Mixed Reactions Online

But Clark‘s All-Star break wasn’t entirely low-profile. Just days after the injury, she was spotted at INVY Nightclub in Indianapolis attending the All-Star Champagne Launch Party with several teammates.

Footage quickly surfaced online showing Clark near the DJ booth dancing with a drink in hand as Waka Flocka Flame’s “Grove St. Party” blasted in the background.

While many fans saw it as a fun, lighthearted moment, others questioned the optics of her partying so soon after announcing her withdrawal from All-Star activities.

The situation gained even more attention when a video showed Aliyah Boston quietly removing Clark‘s drink from her hand-seemingly trying to keep things from getting out of control as Clark shouted excitedly into a nearby camera.

Though no rules were broken and no formal comment has been made by the team, the viral clip added another layer to an already eventful week for the 21-year-old. Clark herself has not publicly addressed the video.
