Caitlin Clark is officially WNBA Rookie of the Year and her boyfriend doesn’t need much to make it clear just why he thinks the 22-year-old is currently the best basketballer in the game.
The ex-Iowa Hawkeye spurred the Fever onto a .500 record in 2023 as they qualified for the WNBA Playoffs for the first time since 2016, although they were eliminated in the First Round by the Connecticut Sun.
She had averaged 19.2 points per game, 8.4 assists per game and 5.7 rebounds per game as well as clinching rookie records for single-game points, single-game assists, overall assists and single-season assists and scoring, as well as becoming the first rookie to hit a triple-double.
It earned her 66 out of 67 votes for WNBA Rookie of the Year, with the one extra vote going to Angel Reese to prevent her from being unanimous, and her boyfriend, Connor McCaffrey wasted no time celebrating Clark.
He simply reposted the announcement from the WNBA of Clark‘s triumph and allowed the graphic to do the speaking for him, showing that he approves of her being voted best of the newbies.
“”I am incredibly honored to be named Rookie of the Year,” Clark said in a press release. “But more than that, I am grateful to everyone that supported me throughout this past season.
“My family and friends, my teammates, the Fever organization and everyone that cheered us on all season. I am so proud of what we accomplished and so excited for what the future holds,”
When will Caitlin Clark get married?
McCaffrey and the Fever star have been in a relationship since April 2023, when she was competing in the NCAA with the Iowa Hawkeyes, and he has continued to support her through her transition to pro.
But so far there is no news of any potential engagement between the youthful pair, meaning a marriage for Caitlin Clark is not yet on the horizon.
