The Indiana Fever did not have a solid preparation for the start of the WNBA season. Despite efforts in the preseason, the team has faced significant challenges that could set the tone for what lies ahead.
Stephanie White, the team’s coach, tore her team apart with her comments.
“Yeah, I think some of our defensive rotations… we missed some rotations. We had some bad defensive closeouts and obviously we didn’t get defensive rebounds… we didn’t do a good job… Offensively, we just kept working on spacing and rhythm…sometimes we got ahead of ourselves,” she said.
On the court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, the veteran presence of players like Aliyah Boston and Natasha Howard combined with the dynamism of new stars like DeWanna Bonner and the off-the-bench spark of Lexie Hull.
But it wasn’t enough for Stephanie White, who didn’t hold back her players or give them a pass for their efforts on the court.
But one player was spared, and that was the great Caitlin Clark, who was the only one to receive positive comments from White, which isn’t surprising considering everything.
