Caitlin Clark was dethroned from a historic Indiana Fever record by one of her teammates in the game against the Seattle Storm

The game between Indiana Fever (17-12) and Seattle Storm (16-13) was not just another game. It marked the fifth consecutive victory for Stephanie White’s team, defeating their rivals 78-74, but it was also the seventh consecutive game that Caitlin Clark missed.

Her persistent right groin injury has given her no respite. Fortunately for the Fever, the team has managed to get by without her, but while Clark continues to watch her team shine from the sidelines, her teammates are achieving incredible milestones and have even taken one of them away from her.

They dethroned Caitlin from this record

Aliyah Boston shone in the game against the Storm, scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds, two assists, three steals, and one block in 31 minutes of play. This was the three-time All-Star’s sixth consecutive double-double, putting her at the top of a prestigious Indiana list and leaving Clark behind.

Aliyah set a new franchise record by becoming the player with the most consecutive double-doubles, with six. Previously, Caitlin held this record, but the crown has changed hands.

The team announced this on its official Instagram account, where not only fans left their comments, but also her teammate, Sophie Cunningham: “hot d*mn sis,” she wrote alongside three fire emojis.

This not only demonstrates the 23-year-old center’s skill level, but also positions her as a key player on the team and reflects Indiana’s five consecutive wins.

Currently, Boston averages 15.5 points, 3.8 assists, and 8.3 rebounds per game.

Indiana without Clark

The team is adjusting without its star player, and although it wasn’t easy at first, it seems to be succeeding. Or so say the consecutive wins and the performances of its players.

In addition to Boston, Natasha Howard scored 21 points and added five rebounds and five assists. Cunningham also shone, contributing 17 points, four three-pointers, five rebounds, and two assists.

Despite the uncertainty, it is still unknown when Caitlin will return to the court. White said they will continue to be cautious with her injury and that she will return when she is truly in optimal condition.

CC will likely miss Tuesday’s game against the Los Angeles Sparks at Crypto.com Arena.
